a collection of diy-nspiring photos

because obviously it's all that will be on my mind for the next.. for a long time. because I am obsessive.

idea one: collages from old magazines + paper scraps

idea two: wall hangings

idea three: hand-painted leather, wood, ceramics, fabric

idea four: continue with jewelry

using leather...

using beads...

using hand-cut metals...

using braided techniques...

using lost wax casting...

beginning etsy

well, i finally managed to do it. it's been years that i've talked about opening a shop on etsy, but only recently did that become a reality for me. i had two sales the first day via facebook exposure, which gave me a false sense of confidence, but it was still incredibly enjoyable to package things up and ship them off. i've always loved sending people mail more than any human being should.

so, photos.

And, obviously, my favorite part... the mail-y package-y part...

i'm a little enthusiastic. i mean, this is an exciting thing for me. i feel like i'm a kid again and my parents just gave me allowance for the first time and i have my own money. Ii's just so exciting to see that people actually want to buy the things i make. i feel better doing this than i ever have designing. i won't even think that it's possible to make my living this way because it's way too premature to think that way, but right now i'm just really enjoying the possibilities. And figuring out what to do next.

thumbs up for entrepreneurialism. entrepreneurship. entresomething.

ode to pink

i finally got around to cleaning out my closet yesterday and discovered that most of what i kept are white, pastel, and lace pieces. i used to really avoid pink clothing but lately i've had this obsession with super light colors because they feel so refreshing.

it feels so incredible to have such a light wardrobe. my goal is to be extremely selective with new purchases and to stay away from all the inexpensive, cheaply made clothing that seems to take over so quickly, even if that means i have to invest in quality, so to speak.

a piece from zara that i like.

kind of in love with pastel hair

pastel hair and awesome clothing. ugh

love the idea of embroidered photos

more pink awesomeness
